Claro Walnut Coffee Table
comments (1) November 20th, 2012 in Reader's Gallery
In response to a friend's request to make them a coffee with "interesting" wood, I designed and constructed a slip matched claro walnut hour glass shaped top, banded by 14 layer walnut bent laminate edges. Walnut ends complete the top. Leg blanks were cut from a large slab to capture a vertical grain flow. Mini-aprons were mortise and tenoned to the front and back primary aprons and the assemblies were doweled to the top.
