Egyptian Senet Game board
The original box was made from Ebony and Ivory. I opted for Holly and an unidentified hardwood given me by a friend. The dimensions are quite close to the original as careful notes were taken when the tomb was discovered. There are several guesses at how the game of Senet was played but very little is known of the second game. The entire affair was a gift to my brother who has a life long interest in ancient Egypt.
The game assembled with pieces in position to begin and casting sticks ready to be tossed.
Turning the box over and reversing the drawer provides this second mysterious game.
