Allie’s box is made from mahogany with maple, cherry & ebony accents and Aubree’s is from figured cherry with maple, mahogany, walnut & padauk accents. Both boxes were colored with water based dye. The cherry box first received a sealer coat of shellac.The mahogany box was grain filled with AquaCoat following a sealer coat of shellac.Each was top coated with 4 coats of Arm-R-Seal. Carvings are done by hand and glued to a birdseye maple background panel.

Ridgid R4251 Miter Saw
The Ridgid R4251 was a pleasant surprise. It uses two articulating arms to let it sit against a wall. The mechanism had me skeptical, but it performed excellently. The controls are conveniently placed and easy to use. The bevel and tilt locks for working off of the stops were my favorite of the field. Its LED results in a nice, accurate shadow.
