In order to get all the angles right, I did full-scale drawings. The rounded leg (walnut) is mortised into the tabletop, which is a single piece of 60cm wide cherry. The cantilever (walnut) is angled through the top and “secured” by a small pin going through the tenon.
The seat on the sofa directly in front of the cantilever has become our favorite spot, as it nicely supports weary legs !
