My wife wanted a side table to set under a window in the office so she could set her laptop on. I found a walnut board that measured 14″x100″. The entire table was made from that one board. The only thing not from the board is a dutchmans joint on the underside to prevent a check from getting bigger. Unfortunately the maple joint is hidden by the skirt. I finished it with 6 coats of hand wiped poly with sandings between coats. I really had fun making this table. The best part of the project was the fact it was made from 1 board.
This walnut board caught my eye one day. I had to buy it. Demensions 14"x100" with the most wonderful grain.
