This vessel is the first piece done on my new Powermatic 4224 lathe. It has 1900 pieces of curly Maple & Tropical Walnut. It stands 12″ tall x 8-1/2″ wide and is 3/16 thick. It was practice for a vessel I’m working on which is similar but much bigger & many more pieces. I’ll have this one in my instant gallery next week in San Jose, please enjoy.

The big one will be somewhere in the range of 20,000 pieces. Now if I can just make tome to work on it.
I view your "practice" piece and see "perfection." There are no boundaries on what can be done with a piece of wood! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks everyone, the big one will be around 20,000 pieces. Still working on it.
