cradle made for the first grandchild in the family

I built this cradle when the first grandchild was announced on my father's side of the family. It is made entirely of wood with no metal anywhere. All the grandchildren slept in it, even if only for a few days if they were big babies. I inscribed the names on the side and also on the board used for the bottom so the future generations could see who came before them. As my daughter will be the first of the second generation to use the cradle, I dusted it off and am getting it ready for use again
