Lamp Number one.

I recently moved into a house with a basement that finally allows me to start working on projects and building things and I decided for my first woodworking project to build some lamps. The lamps are loosely based on this lamp by the master George Nakashima http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=4886543 however I made mine larger and without the rounded neck. I also didn't even think about making the lampshade as that is beyond my skillset. I made them out of 3/4" pine (It was cheap and I didn't want to ruin expensive wood if i messed up). I took several photo's of the building process that I have posted here http://imgur.com/a/KwSxU

Finish is minwax dark walnut stain and minwax satin finish wipe on poly. Hope you enjoy it and please be gentle on me.
