This table is my own design of an Ambrosia Maple, aka Wormy Maple, 'knock-down' table. It stands 30" tall X 52" L X 26.25" W X 1"
There are no screws or nails in its construction and all pieces are affixed using 90 either 1/2" or 3/8" diameter hand formed white oak pegs for through and dead-end pegging and with Mortise-Tenon joints. The dark pieces at either side of the 'leg' structures are also Ambrosia but are stained with medium dark oak stain for contrast and are mortised the full length for the tenon of each side of the center board and through pegged together. The top of the 'leg' is tenoned for the mortised piece on the underside of the table top and pegged with 'knockout' through pegs. The pieces on the underside of the top are dead-end pegged to the underside of the table. The table is rock solid. The table including the underside is finished with Linseed Oil and all parts including the stained pieces are smooth and warm as silk. Construction took three weeks from scratch to finish. Enjoy! ;)
