Two drawers and two doors on front, two doors and a solid, book matched panel on the rear.
Two drawers with hand cut dovetails.
Detail of through tenons.
Through tenons intersect inside the leg.  I just thought itd be fun to try.

Here's my first real piece of furniture.  My Mom wanted a coffee table with storage, and "those slats on the sides."  This is what I came up with.  I really learned a lot.  It's white oak, and although I wanted to fume it, I used a Watco oil to get 'er done.  Poly on top.

That double tenon is a winner; original design??

Its hard to criticise work like this, maby the olny thing i might have done different is wedge the tennons. This baby will never come apart! Thank you for sharing.

I used biscuits to align the top then flattened with a #7 jointer, but that resulted in horrible tear out. I then learned how to sharpen and use a scraper in an old Stanley #80. After some trial and error, it worked amazingly well. I'm doing what I can with hand tools.

SLT - how did you get the top so flat? Do you have ALL the toys?
