I've always been facinated with the 'Steampunk' style.  A combination of Walnut, Figured Cherry and Mahogany with a healthy dose of gears, cogs and wheels.  Yeah, it makes the laptop a bit heavier, but it is so worth it. :-)

Version one was more over the top, and had a few construction issues...quickly remedied with a rebuild of the top.

Time to do more research on the "Steampunk" style.
