This carving was taken from a book Carving Classical Styles in Wood by master woodcarver Fredric Wilbur, the original hangs in the Vatican museum Rome circa. 15,16 century but that is just a guess . Ruslan is our senior instructor at Long Island School of Classical Woodcarving & Woodworking my contribution was the egg & dart moulding.
