On Saturday, 13 November 10, I had my first opening at an art gallery. I had six weeks notice to start making stuff, but my workshop was being totally remodeled, so that really meant just 3 1/2 weeks to build a chimney cupboard, a three-drawer coffee table, a No. 0 armed rocker and twenty some oval box/carrier/tray objects, each finished with several hand-rubbed coats of oil/varnish. Many early risings, late nights and no golf. But I did get it done, and it was well received. Even sold some things. In all a very satisfying experince.
