Walnut Chest on Mahogany Cart

Black walnut chest with figured walnut panels in the drop front.  Mahogany veneer is reclaimed from a piano refinishing project.

Lid holds saw and marking tools.  Top tray holds planes, scrapers, and spokeshaves.  many of the tools in the top tray are taller than it is deep.  Carefull placement of those tools takes advantage of the voids between tools int the lid.  Tools are located in fitted pockets to eliminate interference problems when closing the lid.

Drawer fronts are figured redwood dovetailed to poplar sides.  Dividers are curly oak.

Drawers hold chisels, gouges, screwdrivers, sharping stones, etc.

Lower cart hold fasteners, and corded tools.  Pigeonholes hold more planes.
