Window Table inspired by Mission Gong Stand.
comments (2) April 29th, 2009 in The GalleryMade from old white oak barn boards. No electricity used to make it except for the light bulbs. Brace, chisels, hand planes, hand saws, scrapers, hide glue, walnut stain from black walnuts shucks, shellac and bees wax with Venice turps.....and sweat. I'm not usually such a purist... it was just a personal challenge using some wood from a place I grew up in. Seemed fitting.
Design or Plan used: My Own Design - Daniel Newsome, inspired by a picture I saw for a gong stand in a Mission catalogue from the early 20th century.
