Japanese caligraphy boxes

Two boxes I made for Japanese caligraphy. The first is carved with the image of the famous floating gate in Miyajima and the second is the golden leaves of the Ichijo tree. The finish on the first is laquer the second is Caligraphy ink with paste wax.
