Milwaukee's Multi-Voltage Charger handles both 12- and 18-volt batteries at the same time.
Milwaukee Tool Corp. has put a new twist on their battery chargers, with the Multi-Voltage Charger for their M18 (18 volt) and M12 (12 volt) cordless tool lines. The new system charges both size battery packs simultaneously, which will help reduce the clutter on your shop shelves and make transporting tools a bit easier.
Christian Coulis, senior product manager for Milwaukee’s electric tool division, says the company has a growing number of customers who use both 18- and 12-volt tools at the same time (say, drilling with a big drill and driving screws with the smaller one), and the combo charger makes them work more efficiently. The company says the system will charge compact batteries in 30 minutes and the extended-capacity batteries (XC) in 60.
The new charger will be available in March 2012. It will be included with some M18 tool kits and will be available as an accessory ($59).
Ridgid's Dual Chemistry Charter is a similar idea. It charges all of Ridgid's 9.6- to 18-volt slide pack batteries, but one at a time.
