Christian Becksvoort

Christian Becksvoort is a Fine Woodworking contributing editor and a furniture maker of 45 years. His portfolio of work is deeply inspired by Shaker design, and he does occasional restoration work for the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village. However, he adds a personal and contemporary touch to everything he builds.  In 2004, Becksvoort celebrated a major milestone in his career shipping his 500th commission.

In addition to authoring dozens of articles for Fine Woodworking over the years, Becksvoort is the author of The Shaker Legacy (The Taunton Press, 2000). When not woodworking or spending time with his family, he likes to speed skate or walk in the Maine woods with his dog.
