The adjuster runs through the beam from a small knob at the back end right to the cutting wheel, which moves in and out as you turn the knob. This arrangement works well but makes adjustments a two-handed operation, requiring a little more effort.

It has a toothed angle-setting rack that is extremely solid, accurate, and easy to use, and it offers all of the features I love in a miter gauge, including the ability to add an auxiliary wood fence, and a flip-stop that will accommodate it.

This saw performs well and the ergonomics are good. I appreciated the easily accessed controls and nice, ambidextrous handle. The Grizzly employs two lights, a laser to guide the cut and an LED to illuminate the cutting surface. The visibility is good, although the LED does not cast a shadow, it just lights up the cutting area. The miter range and number of detents are nice. However, the bevel range extends to only 45° on each side and has no positive stops. The saw requires a good deal of clearance from the wall, which, like similar models, may make it tricky for smaller shops.

This tool is designed for convenience. The battery and pins are easy to load, and the safety lock operates with the same finger you use to pull the trigger. The depth of set is adjustable, there’s a work light, and there’s a hook for hanging the tool on your toolbelt. A gauge lets you keep track of when you’ll need to recharge.
