Carved Rocking Chair

Woodworker: Andrew Wappett
Based on a design that Wappett regularly makes, this rocking chair was commissioned as a Mother’s Day gift. The rocker is constructed out of figured birch and cherry. The relief carving of the two chickadees on the crest rail was done by Philip Marshall, a local artisan. The rocker is finished with an oil-and-varnish mixture, and the carving is highlighted with oil paint.
