Does that work out to $ 15 per board foot ? Very roughly. Mixing metrics and inches with cavalier abandon. I just calced for a cubic yard and tossed out $.44.

That price sounds about right to me. It's more or less what I pay for Burmese Teak or high quality Wenge. And as far as I know, ebony is sold by the gram.
