Realtk1,
I don't know about the Jet Supersaw. But my local tool dealer told me to buy the Powermatic 64A not the Jet SS. He told me that the 64A was a better tool. I don't know if he was right, or just had more of a profit margin in the 64A. Anyways I bought the Powermatic 64A. I've had it for about 2 years, and I love it. It's one of my best buys yet. I set it up without a problem in about 2 hrs. Then performed the nickle test. You may know the nickle test. If not is goes as follows. Set the tool up, and level it with the foot screws, Put a nickle on end on the saw table, turn on the saw, let it run for a few seconds, then shut it off. It the tool is set up right the nickle will still be standing on end. If not, there's too much vibration in the tool, and you need to take a second look at your setup. Mine passed the nickle test the 1st time. The only time it won't pass is if I put the nickle in front of the blade. When I do that the wind comming from the rotating blade blows the nickle over.
I have some dust collection setup on the 64A which is OK but could be better. I think a cabinet saw would provide better for dust collection.
The original Jet SS has some issues, but I believe those have been resolved in the newer full cabinet version. As much as the PM64a is a great contractor saw, a contractor saw in general has no advantages over a good hybrid, or better yet a full 3hp cabinet saw. Those two designs have better dust collection, more mass, and shorter drive belts for more efficient power transfer than contractor saws. I suspect that in the not so distant future, contractor saws will be obsoleted by hybrids in the hobbyist market.
If you have 220v, Grizzly and Shop Fox have very good full cabinet saws in your price range that are much more substantial machines. If you don't have 220v, then a good hybrid is the way to go IMHO. General International, Grizzly, Delta, DeWalt, and Craftsman have good hybrids to pick from. FWIW, the new Craftsman 22124 was picked as Editor's Choice by Workbench Mag over the GI, DW, and Jet. It sports a commercial Biesemeyer fence, a good Leitz blade, full enclosure, cabinet mounted trunnions, fold up outfeed table, and a crosscut fence on the miter gauge.

Thanks Knottscott, I will be going to Sears tomorrow ans take a look.
I've been a serious hobbyist for nearly 20 years now and I second what Knottscott said in the previous reply. He's right on the money.
For that much money I will gladly sell you one of my Unisaws with an HTC base.
DJK
PS: It will run on 110 or 220.
