   don't do it.  It's not worth the steel that it is stamped out of.  Save your pennies and get a Lie-nielsen or a St. James Bay.

   I bought the insert several years ago and could never make it work. As someone else said, you can give it a try and if you don't like it Lee Valley will refund your purchase price.

   Alan,

            I have had one for several years. It does work but not very well.  As someone else has already suggested get a lie-nelson or even a no. 80 stanley.  I seldom use my insert as I have 2 stanleys that work fairly well.
