I’ve been looking the delta 6×48″ belt sander that comes with a 9″ disc. Is it practical to sand pieces that are narrower, but longer than the belt? I’ve got a lot of pieces that are about 36-44″ in length that I need finish and I’ve been using my random-orbit sander, but I thought this might be more efficient.
Thanks,
Zach

It would be hard to get a even finish with this belt sander. But I use mine all the time for all sorts of rougher work and smaller finish work.

It is a handy, inexpensive sander to have around, but I continued to use my ROS on the longer boards until I got the Performax - now the ROS are only used for final sanding, and the Delta is very lightly used.
