I have my unisaw on a mobile base because of limited basement work space. While moving the saw recently a bumped the switchbox on a lolly column and it snaped off the saw. It is only mounted to the bracket with two small dog ear one on the top and one on the bottom. I contacted Delta and they want $162 (not counting shipping) to replace this switchbox. Their technician stated that you can not just buy the box without the switches; that’s why it’s so expensive.
G.P. Enterprises; Nashville,Tn. makes the switchbox. However I can not locate them on the web. Help !!

When I got an older model Rockwell/Delta Unisaw, the switch was in sad shape and needed replacement. It originally had the magnetic set-up with a big box on the side of the cabinet. It was also in sad shape.
What I did was to junk all that and got a magnetic switch from Woodworkers' Supply and made a mounting plate from some angle iron. I believe the cost was $52; they come in different HP and amp ranges to match your motor. The thing looks like it was made in China, but it has served me well since 1999.
Good luck. You may also want to consider mounting it under and in back of the front rail to minimize the chance of hitting it again.
Thanks Mike. I'm determined to improve what was there.
Grangiers has all you could ever want in Telmecanique, Square D or AB... Huge price swing..
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming....
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Amen ! Thanks for the help. I think I managed to shake loose a free replacement switchbox from Delta. After whining to them for two days... Hey! Whatever works; their pockets are a hell of a lot deeper than mine. Hope we meet in the hereafter; but I doubt I'll have a white robe. Maybe red.
