Both of my framing squares have gotten out of square. What is the best way to make them square again?

Presumably you have a reliable square or technique to tell you what is square or not.
First question is are both the inside and outside corners out of square by the same amount and are the all of the long edges truly straight? Also, are the squares aluminum or steel?
