Hi,
I have a sizable collection of antique woodworking tools which I want to sell. Does anyone out there have any advice on how to go about this?
Thanks

Terry,
So you want to know how to sell antique tools.
Send them to me, and I'll take care of it for you. :-)
The best way would be if you have a tool collectors society near you.
There is a place for Classifieds here on Knots.
Best of luck.
Mel
Measure your output in smiles per board foot.
Throw them on ebay or contact Clarence Blanchard of The Fine Tool Journal. http://www.finetoolj.com/
You may want to contact Patrick Leach. He buys and sells old tools and has been on the web for many years. I'm sure he'll make you a fair offer for items he deems desirable. Info at: http://www.supertool.com/
Here's a link to his current offerings: http://www.supertool.com/forsale/oct08sale.htm
If what you have is of this quality and vintage, I'm sure he'd love to talk to you.

Terryl, I sell around $1000 worth of old tools each month at an Antique Mall, E-bay, and at Auctions. Call me at 740-474-4720, or E-mail at [email protected] and I will give you some advise and alternatives to think about. This is what I love to do. John
