I’m thinking of making the Stickley Tier Table from their catalog. What type of joinery would be best to attach the shelves to the legs? I know I’ve seen this type of table/stand in a magazine but don’t remember which one or when to even try to figure out what it was called to look at online indexes.
I have most tools to make pretty much every type of joint.
I’ll attach a picture(hopefully that’s legal)

BB, I have made a few projects with this same shelf/leg configuration. I made a jig from MDF for my router and made a notch in the legs and just squared them up with a sharp chisel. Add glue and clamps and you're good to go. (see attached picture) I have also used screws to reinforce the joint, I just squared the holes with a hollow mortiser chisel and plugged them with a contrasting piece of wood.
If the shelves are solid wood, you need to provide for expansion. I am sorry, I cannot see though the picture well enough, <g>, so my comment might be redundant.
Best wishes,
Metod
