I am ready to use a Teknatool SuperNova Chuck, using the screw chuck, for the first time. Anyone know what size hole I should drill? Specific size hole?
Thanks,

The root dia. to the threads or a little less.
And also use some "lube" on the threads, I use paste wax. Johnsons or Butchers Bowling ally wax.
Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

Bruce,
Thanks for the advice on the paste wax. I have a can of Minwax paste wax. I assume that will work?
Do I recall that you work for someone who sells routerbits, etc.?
Thanks,

It may well be metric 8 or 10 mm.I am not familiar with Teknatool but I believe it that it is similar to Multistar (which I use) and has a screw with a parallel root .So do ensure that in hard wood it is drilled to the root size precisely. It is also important that the material has a good flat surface snug to the mini faceplate .I hope this is of some assistance Jako
Napie and Jako,
Have to admit this is the first time I have heard the phrase "root diameter of the screw." Never too old to learn. But, I figured it out and found that a 5/16" (or a 32nds less) works fine.
Thanks for the help.
