I recently bought 2 battery powered finish nailers. Ea came w/ 2 batteries. I’d like to store 2 for when the 1st 2 go bad, since I don’t need 4 at once. I didn’t charge them. Do you think they’d keep & how do I store them? ie: room temp, cool, dry place etc.

If there's any chance of them freezing I would have them fully charged first.

NiCd batteries are supposed to last longer when stored discharged. NiMH batteries are supposed to last longer when stored fully charged (but tend to self-discharge pretty quickly, so they need to be topped up every month or so). Lead-acid batteries must be stored fully charged, and topped up every month or so, or they'll die a rapid death. Li-ion batteries don't seem to care very much.
