I have on hand a catalog from 1943 Bostwick-Braun Co. that also has all of the stanley part numbers in it. This little book ( about 1400 pages) had everything a HARDWARE store could order back then. From axes ( shipped by the dozen) to swingsets, shotguns w/ammo, any hand tool and even a full line of Blacker &Decker power tools of that time. Need the number of a cutter for a Stanley plow plane? It's in this book. Ask and I will gladly look it up for anyone the wants it.
Those massive hardware catalogs have been a goldmine of information. Everything you can think of, or not think of, was listed. The only problem with them is wanting to read the entire thing from cover to cover!Garyhttp://toolemera.com
THANKS!! It is fun to look at, but it is also an education about parts that were available before every manufacturer decided that it was more profitable to sell new tools than repair the old ones.
