Sources for molding knives for a Shop Fo
I’m looking to make a run of custom molding to match existing molding in a restoration I’m working on. Can anyone point me to a good source of custom knives or a local shop (I’m in Boston) that would manufacture them for me?
While I’m at it, for painted moldings, what wood choice do you think is best? I’ve seen people talk about poplar and pine but are there quality concerns with using either?
Thanks,
aak

I would try http://www.cggschmidt.com/ they are in NJ and they are outstanding in their field.
I would not use pine, poplar makes an excellent moulding if you are going to paint it.
