And they got him…

In Texas, machinery theft and getting your car keyed is worthy of getting the gun out. Of course it wasn’t that long ago that “But officer, he needed shoot’n.” was a valid criminal defense.

Thanks for that! I think it was wonderful that technology busted him.
If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
I thought the police warning down there was "Stop or I'll (bang)......shoot!
Problem is, when you read the story close, they don't have him in custody. They recovered the merchandise, but the thief is on the run. Looks like he is a pro too, with being wanted in Tennessee as well. It is a shame that spring guns and other booby traps are illegal.Dan Carroll
Yes..we have that...and some famous footage of a guy getting hit by a police car in a field for running from arrest....Scott
even more unbelievable, today they showed footage of a police chase where the guy crashed his truck but then escaped the police by running into the woods...after a search, the police gave up..heading back to the station they spotted the fugitive, ASLEEP in the middle of the road!!!
reality is stranger than fiction, if I had seen this in a movie, I would have said, Yeah, right"
"Rowland called police, who recovered the merchandise."
How dull is that? He should have contracted OJ and some of his cronies for a sting operation and recovery -- much more exciting!
Smart guy, I wish more thefts ended this way, with the badguys in jail.
