Hi guys,
Tada! I finally made my shopmade router D-handle base. I’ve been thinking about that for months. I was inspired by Carol Reed’s design.
The sub-base is made out of 3/8”-thick Plexi and the handle is nothing but two pieces of scrap plywood glued together. Two short afternoons spent in the shop and it was done. I wonder why I waited so long.
No more tipping in sight when milling edges.
Take a look at the details and short videos on my website, build you own and show us you work.
NB: On this side of the border, the P-C D-handle base is over $100 CAN.
When retired, you don’t have much money… but you have more time!
Best,
Serge

Bubinga might have been better. And, what? No side carving? ;-)
