Peter,
What would be the best Finish to use for a dinner table made out of Sheesham Wood (dalbergia sisoo)? The finish that is currently there seems to be a type of vanish but is rubbing off and becomes sticky. Was thinking of sanding the whole table but not sure what to put back on.<!—-><!—-> <!—->

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.<!—-><!—->

Sorry I don't know that wood.
However "best" is always a subjective question.
I would suggest you strip not sand the finish off. Be sure and neutralize the surface with denatured alcohol prior to finishing.
Two very good finishes for table tops; for brushing try Belen Rockhard. If you can spray you can't beat pre catalyzed lacquer.

Sheesham is Indian Rosewood.
