I hope Charles M picks up on this one, Has anybody had a Freud Dial-A-Dado sharpened and if so Where ?? My concern is the free spinning dial hub and how someone sharpening it can index and hold the blade steady while grinding. Also what might be the expected usage before sharpening is needed??

The dial hub on the Dial A Dado can be removed, as I had to remove mine to change it over from mounting on a right sided arbor to a left side arbor. It only takes four small bolts/nuts to remove it and I would think they could/would remove the hub to sharpen the blade if they needed to do that.
As far as sharpining the blade, it depends on what you are cutting with it. If you cut a lot of hard Maple and MDF, your blades will dull faster than if you are cutting softer woods and little MDF. I don't know how much it helps, but I soak my blades in Acetone after cutting MDF.

Bruce,
As Terry said, the hubs are removeable and the blank filler for the inside blade can be used to locate either blade on the grinder. Any full service saw shop should be able to sharpen these with no problem. Life expectancy will be identical to the SD500 series.
