Seeking custom hardwood plywood

Hi,

I have a headboard project that requires a single 8×4 piece of plywood or MDF that I’d like sycamore veneer on both sides. I haven’t done veneering before (the rest of the bed is a big enough project), so I was hoping to locate a shop that could do this for me. As a single sheet, the job may be too small. Any suggestions? I live near San Jose, CA.

       There is an outfit in either Sacramento or the bay area , so not too far from you .You need to do a Google search for Exotic Hardwoods and Veneers , I believe that's the name of the business , they are very helpful and will custom lay up whatever you want as long as they have it in stock .

Try Aura Hardwood on Phelan, near Monterey Highway. They may have it - or be able to get it.

Southern Lumber (Monterey Highway at Alma) may also be able to get it. If you go to Southern Lumber, make sure your wallet is well filled. - lol

You can special order stuff like that through PALS or Higgins. Exotic hardwoods is also a good source but they aren't always the most friendly people to deal with on small orders.
