I’m cutting out an intricate pattern with my Scrollsaw, the cheap “package of 12 for $5” blades from HomeD seem to “skip” – they cut in spurts. QUite strange actually.
I also have some twisted blades but find them hard to control on straight cuts.
I’m looking for a smooth cutting blade that can cut tight radii (radiuses?) (I’m cutting out cursive lettering. The blade should also be able to take plenty of tension to minimize blade flex/drift. I prefer the blades with the “T” on each end because the mounting for the non-“t” type is a pain in the neck.
My scrollsaw is an older Dremell with a lot of bounce (makes my eyes blurry just watching the stock), and only two speeds (fast and slow:-). (If I were to do it again, I would not have bought the dremell but it was cheap ~$100)
Thanks,
Mark
Measure it with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with an ax.

IMHO, the only way to go with scroll saw blades is Flying Dutchman. I went on a scrolling bing a couple Christmas's ago, and these blades were phrenomenal. You can get them at Mike's Workshop:

And, he will help you pick the right blades and answer any scrolling question you have!
PS: Dump the Dremel! You could have gotten a new Delta for essentially the same price, with true variable speed, quick change blade holders and very little vibration. Scrolling is a real PITA when using a saw that won't sit still.

FG, thanks for the tip. I just sent him an email. And dumping the dremel is not an option yet. When I have the extra cash, I will. First it's the dust collector, then the tablesaw. For the amount I use the scroll saw, I can live with it for now.I may throw some sandbags in the drawers of the scroll saw table - that might cut down on the bounce a bit (but I doubt it).Mark
