“School” Clock, Wall Mouted, Octagonal
Ladies and Gentlemen:
In about 1964 I built the Wall Mounted School Octagonal clock for my daughter.
I bought the plans from an outfit called “Mason&Sullivan.” They appear to be out of business; I can’t locate them on the web.
Can anyone tell me where to buy Plans for this item?
I’m interested only in the type of ocatagonal frame for the face of the clock which is formed by cutting and fitting, splining and gluing the 8 pieces of the wood to make the Octagonal frame.
Any guidance will be appreciated.
Thank you,
William

Meisel has octagonal wall clock plans, both the flat front that you don't want and the segmented style you do.
http://www.klockit.com is another source for parts you might need, but i don't see the plan you want.
Go to slarose.com for plans and murrayclock.com Both will be of some help. You may also get info. if you write NAWCC (Nat'l Assoc. of watch and clock collectors) 514 Poplar St.Columbia, Pa 17512. If you are anywhere near there the Museum is one of the finest in the US. Also write Emperor Clock Co, Fairhope Al as they may have the kit you are looking for.

William,
You'll find an Octagonal Wall Clock at http://www.WoodcraftPlans.com
Look under the "Clock" plans category. There's about 75 categories of plans there.

Thanks all, for the suggestions..
Ben, I tried to find plans at the Woodcraftplans.com site. They have 5 plans for clocks. I couldn't turn up an octagonal wall mounted "School" clock.
Makes no never mind now since I found the plans that I wanted at another outfit's site.

I make something, sometimes twice, each year.

William:
I believe the plan you are looking for is plan number SC-12, School Room Clock copyrighted by Mason & Sullivan in 1964.
I believe the assets of M&S were aquired by Klockit (same for slarose) some time ago but I don't know what they have done with the rights. They certainly do not offer this beautiful clock in any form. I have made several clocks from this plan. My plan has deteriorated badly with time and usage but I have scanned or redrawn enough of it to build a clock. In fact Ihave done so and am in the process of making another. If you are interested I can email you the files but you may need to find someone with a large format printer.

SO I see you have found a plan already. Perhaps you've even finished the clock. I was curious, though and did a little hunting. Does the attached image show the clock you were after?
