This fool just managed to slide a wedge shaped plank through the Ryobi thicknesser from the thin end first.
When the thicker part reached the blades I found out the limits of cutting activity just as the drive chain busted and all other activity stopped.
This chain for everyone`s info is simply the same as the chain on a kids bike.
There is sufficient chain in one bike replacement chain for me to repeat my first mistake, which all of us slow learners seem to do.
Good Luck and hope this helps someone else as silly as me.
Go on—I know you are out there

I inherited a Ryobi thicknesser from my, who transferred to The Big Shop in 2006. Good to know that it can be fixed with bicycle parts, should I give it a wedgie.
If it's any consulation, the chain on my Ryobi AP12 planer broke when I WASN'T forcing it.It broke part of the housing, which I was able to fix with JB Weld.
The chains were still available from Ryobi for a fairly reasonable price.
Thanks for posting!
