Hi John,
Don't stop would be the easy answer. It would be the facile way out. Also it would be dreaming because sometimes you have to stop a cut. Sanding can work but it's tedious and prone to rounding your nice sharp corners. A good sharp gouge can work if it's the right shape. You could also try making a scraper out of an old saw blade or if that flexes too much, try and shape an old file handle or even a cutter from an abandoned Stanley #45.
But try this first. Make your cuts, get in and out of the stop as quick as you can. Clean your bit with a bit cleaner, an oven cleaner, or some kind of solvent. Then make the cut 1/32" deeper and again get in and out of the stop as quickly as possible. This might just do it. Good luck. Gary
