don't know about the Ridgid. I built three stiff tables instead of horses to tote around to the jobs (I tend to stay on my jobs as long as a year plus) with the saw table lowered appropriate to the depth so the stock can ride level on the other two tables. I like this because it is very versatile. for instance, each table has three working heights -- it's length is limitless, and for long heavy stock it has been a great blessing for us. (we built some huge coffered ceilings like this )
interestingly enough, they are easier to move from room to room than horses -- we simply hop in the middle of the bench (oh yeah, the two outrider tables are topless) and pick it up with both hands like yer britches.
I know this is from dec 15 but if you still want some input I bought the rigid folding standwith wheels in dec and put my big dewalt 12in dual slider on it . i can move it around with the saw attached all the time , and it sets up in a couple of mins if i take my time , its way to cool . I still have my trac rac stand for my other saw but i think the rigid is even better besides the slider was to big for it the stand would hold it o.k. but the saw is to much to carry around . Dogboy
thanks for the reply. I also bought the rigid myelsf. I'm pretty impressed with all its features also.
Got a Rigid for my DeWalt 10" dual slider as well. Very pleased with it, esp. price. The large wheels are great getting over minor debris without causing the mobile system to tip or suddenly get stopped as you are changing locations. The roller end extensions are very nice as well, something it seems alot of other stands don't have. When moving from place to place, one still has to use care as there is no getting around the fact that a saw as large as the DeWalt is big load on what is basically a narrow, tall table - albeit a very nice way to gain mobility for the saw. I recommend it - for whatever that is worth, probably not a great deal.
I just finished this doing a job that i had to put my saw in a basement and it was much easer getting it down on the stand then carrying it with my back.
How do you like your 10in slider , i was looking at buying it but couldnt find one around here so i bought the 12in dewalt slider, im just interested as it looked like a nice saw and i liked the size for carrying around , i got the stand because it is a bitch to carry. but think i would have been happy with the 10in.
