Anyone know where to get replacement impeller blades for dust collectors? I have an old no-name blower: 5 hp, 3ph, Lincoln motor, 13 1/2″x 4″ six blade impeller for 1 1/8″ shaft. It sucked up a chunk of something and bust two fins (grrrrrr!) So far I’m striking out….no one wants to sell replacement parts unless you bought your machine from them.
Thanks in advance folks…

You may not be interested, but yesterday I saw that the AirGas catalog (machine tools) had several sizes of phase converters for sale. Pretty cheap too. 1-3 HP listed at $144.50. 3-5 Hp at $161.50

Good luck on finding the impellor blades. If you find some, please post the source here.
*Hotsawdust,In most cases getting a replacement part from the manufacturer is the quick and easy way to go. In your case it sounds like it is the difficult way to go. Depending on how the blades broke off, you might want to consider getting some galvanized steel sheet and some nuts and bolts and try making some replacement blades. Since you didn't mention any more details about the impeller construction, I'm assuming it's a standard open radial blade type impeller. If that's the case, it should be easy to put those metalworking skills to use, and make replacement blades from sheet metal. Just cut a little extra along one edge, make a flange by bending the extra 90 degrees, and then bolt or screw the flange to the back plate of the impeller, and perhaps anchor at the hub with another flange and screw. If you are careful to make the blades the same size and thickness as the old ones, and line them up along the same line, the fan should have roughly the same performance in your DC system. However, if you have a paddle-wheel type impeller, with no backing plate behind the blades, you might have to use some small angle iron to support the blade. You might spend a few hours and a couple of trips to the hardware store, but the steel and screws should be inexpensive. Having a jury-rigged DC fan is probably better than none at all...???Good luck,Jay
