I really screwed up. I have to hang a small door into a frame
that is too narrow for my electric drill to fit and I’m unable to
pre-drill for the screws. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
The door and frame are hard maple
Thanks
Ken

I've got this great little Milwaukee angle drive unit for such situations. Only $24.95 and you can get a set of hex drive drill bits for pretty cheap. Hex drive vix bits are also available.

GIMLET...not the drink.
dovetail , This happens from time to time, a sharply pointed awl , and a short screwdriver , yes by hand . Try a bit of parrafin on the threads of the screws. good luck
Ken, I have used a tap wrench, the ratchet type works best to drill the pilot holes. Then a phillips bit can be inserted in the tap wrench to turn the screws.Try driving the screws without drilling, might save you some time.

I purchased an angle drill this morning and hopefully
my problem will be solved
Ken (gratefully)
Use an awl or a bradawl or a gimlet Ken.
