The tires on my power feed seem to be getting hard and tend to slip. Is there something that will improve the grip short of replacing them?
Just looking for ideas.
I have tried using sand paper to cut the glaze, but will only work for a short time and that seems to be a poor idea in the long run.

basically what you need is something like armor-all that won't also make them slicker than owl sh!t. (helpful hint from a friend who found this out the hard way when that stuff first came out: NEVER armor-all the seat on your motorcycle!) the feed wheels are probably some sort of urethane- call a skate board/in-line skate dealer and see what they recommend. or the mfr of your power feed- tho they will probably just try to sell you new ones.

Hi CURT1942 ,
What you are describing may be caused by several things. One thing you can do is try some paraffin wax on the table under the area the strips of stock run on. When the feed on one of my shapers starts to slip I wax the table a bit and all is good.Of course make sure any wax residue gets sanded off , before finishing. The tires do get worn out brittle and otherwise eventually need new rollers, however on a heavy duty feed they may last for many years .
good luck dusty
