I came across a long article in the Globe and Mail newspaper (Canadian newspaper) yesterday about crappy service. I quote here from that article:
Some angry consumers are turning to thesqueakywheel.com, where they pay $5 to register a complaint, and receive a service that makes them a thorn in a company’s side: Every time someone views their complaint, the site sends an e-mail to a senior official at the company they’re complaining about (the customer must supply the e-mail address).
“It makes the company know that people are paying attention,” says the Squeaky Wheel founder Jeff Harris, who created the site after a customer-service debacle with a travel service. “A company can put up with one angry customer, but when an executive starts getting hundreds of e-mails, that’s different.”
Cheers,
Peter

Wal-Mart and Ebay are in trouble
Interesting idea, but it's awfully easy for the target company to filter the incoming complaint-mail.
Yupper, that's an affirmative
Wow, pay someone 5 bucks to complain.....isn't capitalism great!
I do put a value on my time. Especially my WASTED time. I am not rich enough to have an "assistant" do the petty frustrating things I end doing in life. BTW, this was not an endorsement for the product, simply something I thought folks might be interested in hearing about. And you are right, capitalism is great.Cheers,Peter
