So, I’m looking for the following plans:
Display Cabinet on a Stand by Michael Pekovich
The link in the article doesn’t take me to the plans…. and, it sounds like even if the link worked Taunton’s trying to sell plans to me. I’m an unlimited member.
Looks like others have had problems (some years ago,) accessing the plans. What gives? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thank you.

The plans search within the FWW site is a little clunky and hard to navigate. My guess is they are woodworker first and IT tech persons second. I found the plan you seek, I think. A link is below:

Cheers
Not sure where their IT people reside but Taunton hired a contractor for Customer and Subscription Services in 2022 shortly before the AIM takeover. It was a mess, and OMEDA never figured out how to make the transition. More than two years later, problems still arise under AIM--which kept OMEDA on board.
Bob,
I'm right here. Amanda is off today, so it's taking a little longer to get to comments.
You can also stop posting about Omeda where it isn't applicable.
THANK YOU! I appreciate your help.
You are most welcome. I find that a google search prefaced with fine woodworking usually gets you to where you want to go.
Rwebbmn is right. Unlimited members should always check the plan library. We've tried to delete links to the old Taunton Store (a company that no longer exists), but we've missed a few. It's a large site.
Since I purchased the plans before I was an unlimited member (I think), I don't need the current access to plans. However, I did go to the plans. It appears they are in a zipped file which may require Sketchup to open. It doesn't seem as if you can open the actual "full-size" plans which I bought earlier without Sketchup as there is a file with the Sketchup extension in the zipped collection of files. However, the original article lays out the parts (as all these FWW articles do) which should allow you to make the project. That is easily downloadable as a pdf file and will serve as a guide to building it. I could be wrong as there are several files in the zipped collection and possibly one of those besides the Sketchup file will give you what you are looking for.
You should have gotten a PDF file and the SketchUp model file if you purchased the digital plans for the piece. You would only need SketchUp to open the SketchUp model file.
I’m confused too about the Michael Pecovich portable tool chest. If I am a member and just paid for a year do I need to buy these plans? I thought I had access for the year to all the plans. Thanks for the help. : ) Kay
No, you shouldnt. Its just hard to find things here. Your not the only one that struggles....It could be a whole lot easier and intuitive.
Its sad that there is such a massive massive storage of information on here and its not user friendly to access...i get frusterated looking for things here too.
If your signed in (and are an unlimited member) use the search box center top and type #234 (im assuming thats what your looking for.)
Find "Shop Storage And Furniture" in the left hand submenu.
Thatll bring up 2 options. one of which is the guide article from #234
That brings up the guide
Scroll down about halfway and just below some ads is a small brown button that says view full PDF...
There is a sketchup file availible with a buttom right below the view full pdf too but youll need to use sketchup.com to open it and also know how to use that interface for it to be useful.
There are premium eLearning classes that are not included in the membership, but you have access to every article and every plan Fine Woodworking has published (that we still have rights to fine print fine print).
Looks like the plan is available. Link below:
