Hello one and all. This is my first time on this site.
I want to build a reclining chair and I need a plan. However, I want the recliner to be more in the way of mid-century Eames type furniture than either a Morris chair or the chair Frasier’s dad kept together with duct tape.
About six months ago I came across such a chair at a little used furniture store. The chair was beautifully simple. You just sat in it, and to recline it you simply pushed your legs and leaned back. There seemed to be little or no metal mechanism. I was tempted to buy it and take it apart to see how it worked. I spent a couple of day agonizing over the $300 price tag and when I went back it was sold. The manufacturer was Norwegian, but I couldn’t find any references online, and now I can’t even find the name of the maker.
Any idea are welcome. Thanks for you time and efforts.

Is it possible the chair was made by Ekornes? They are a Norwegian company that makes very comfortable recliners. Another one is Fjords. Plans for such a thing are likely to be difficult to come by. You might hunt Craigslist and see if you can find an old one that is cheap enough to tear down so you can see how it works. Then develop a plan for your own version.
