A little description on ‘Ask the Experts’ page, talks about Peter Gedrys making boxed out of plywood and then finishing them with glaze.
>>>>>Gedrys’ lidded boxes are actually made from plywood. The boxes are finished with graining techniques that give them the appearance of mahogany and tiger maple.<<<<<<
Does anyone know how he does that?

He did an article on faux graining in FWW #157.

If you go to the FWW Home page and type gedrys into the Search box you'll find several article by Peter. It's strange that he hasn't responded to you. He's usually quite prompt when asked questions - must be a good reason though.
I'm sure you'll hear from him soon.
