Hi All
Just making my way over from breaktime (sh-sh-sh don’t tell anyone)
Got a question. My Nefew is making a pepper grinder (aka table leg). The thing is going to be 34 inches tall. Why? Because we can!
The question is….. Is there a set size for the top part that turns the shaft to the works below? Or is that what ever we want.
The next question is… Seeing as my wife (aka DRHRosie) is a chef, She would like to have Peugeot works. We have yet to find the works for the craftsman. Either on line or in any store here in Montreal Quebec.
Thanks to all for your time.

jet, I used to sell kitchen stuff at a pretty high end place and the best workings in my opinion come from a company called atlas. They are made in greece and they are garunteed for life. they come in two styles, twist and a handcrank like on the bench planers. Try this address and see where it will lead you. http://www.wbspice.com/atlas.htm
I own one and I love it and have used it daily for seven years without incident. I am not sure if you can go as long as you want to in height though. I promise you can't go wrong.
